Moses Hid His Face

Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

  1. Holy ground. Something that belongs in the church on Sunday? Or metaphorically, at least? How could we relate that to liturgy? Do we, in some way, take off our sandals before worship? Kind of hard to hide our faces. Especially after Christ came and showed his face.

    • Given the move from types and shadows (God the Son, who spoke from the fire has become incarnate!) to reality, we observe this best by recognizing God’s holiness and responding appropriately.
