This is episode 21 in the series, What Must A Christian Believe? In our survey of the rule of faith, i.e., the Apostles’ Creed, we are completing our brief study of the tenth article, “the forgiveness of sins.” The doctrine of justification is a rich doctrine that touches on a number of important truths. So, in this episode, we are thinking about the relations between justification and sanctification, assurance, the imputation of Christ’s whole righteousness (the active suffering of Christ for us), and the unique role of faith in justification. We also think about the importance of grasping the covenant of works and distinction between the covenants of works and grace.
