Before there was Recovering the Reformed Confession, there was Recovering Mother Kirk a seminal book for all Reformed confessionalists who are looking for a way between revivalism and fundamentalism or between QIRC and QIRE. Darryl Hart published Recovering Mother Kirk just over a decade ago, in 2003. It’s recently been republished by Wipf & Stock and it’s available on Amazon and whereever good books are sold. Darryl teaches at Hillsdale College and Westminster Seminary California and is the author of a number outstanding books including, Calvinism: A History and From Billy Graham to Sarah Palin. He blogs at Oldlife.org He’s not only one of the most significant voices in the confessional Reformed world but one of the more important scholars of American religion and culture. If you’re interested in the Young, Restless, and Reformed Movement, American evangelicalism and their intersection with historic, confessional Reformed theology, piety, and practice, you should hear this interview (and read this book).

We had Stephen’s copy for a short time about ten years ago. Looking forward to our own copy just ordered a couple days ago. And, also looking forward to listening in on the conversation between RRC And RMK… 🙂
I’m guessing you meant to write that Dr. Hart is “not [ONLY] one of the most significant voices in the confessional Reformed world but one of the more important scholars of American religion and culture.”
Otherwise looking very much forward to listening to this when I get a chance!
Thanks Chris. Fixed.
Could not agree more with your assessment of DG, Scott.
