Office Hours: Introducing Johannes Cocceius On Covenant Theology In English

Office Hours 2016 full sizeFor most of his long career, Johannes Cocceius (1603–69) taught Old Testament, biblical theology, theology, and philology in the Netherlands. He was arguably one of the most important and influential Reformed theologians of the 17th century and his influence continues to be felt but there is a good probability that you are not familiar with his work. In part, that is due to the fact that none of his works have ever appeared in English, until now. Dr Casey Carmichael, who earned an MA at the University of Kentucky in classics and PhD at the University of Geneva, has been studying the life and work of Johannes Cocceius for years. He has also produced the first-ever English translation of Cocceius’ major work on covenant theology: The Doctrine of the Covenant and Testament of God, one of the five most important works in the history of Reformed covenant theology. It is volume 3 in the Classic Reformed Theology series.
