Trans Activist Suing Jack Phillips

The poor Colorado cake-maker, Jack Phillips, who has already won one case in the US Supreme Court, is facing more litigation, this time from a trans-activist. This is a campaign to eliminate freedom of thought, freedom of speech, under fear of litigation. It’s called lawfare.

  1. If you can’t prove the crime, you do the time.

Deuteronomy 19:19  Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

    Done.

  2. There was a famous case in the UK, in which a Dr Dering sued the author Leon Uris and his publishers for libel. He had, in fact, inadvertently exaggerated the figures, but the allegations were in substance correct. The jury awarded him damages of one halfpenny, and the costs were awarded in their entirety to the defendants, i.e., the plaintiff had to pay all the court costs.
Unfortunately, the plaintiff then was promptly summoned to a much higher court, and the defendants were left holding the baby, i.e., they were saddled with all the court costs after all. It’s written up in Wikipedia.

  3. We truly need to have civil lawsuits handled differently, requiring the plaintiff to pay the entire legal costs and damages to the person they wrongfully sue.

    • Agreed Mike! “Looser pays” tort reform would completely solve the problem of frivolous and harassment-based lawsuits and reduce the number of lawyers in this country by 25%. Too bad lawyers make all the laws in Congress…..when will we learn how to vote? I’m not disparaging attorneys here, just the process itself.
