  1. I thought the comments at the end of this episode were particularly helpful. The idea that the means of grace create, confirm, and cultivate (i.e. strengthen) faith in Jesus Christ makes a lot of sense.

    The word creates, confirms, and cultivates faith.
    The sacraments confirm and cultivate faith.
    Prayer cultivates faith.

    This seems to provide a concrete meaning to the idea that the means of grace are made effectual to the elect for salvation (WSC 88).
