I need to read me some William Perkins!
We all need to read Perkins.
Do you have a recommended starting place?
Two of my favorites are his commentary on Galatians and the Reformed Catholic but Golden Chain is also very good. That is a survey of sorts and is a good entry point.
One wonders what the tone police would have to say if such an (accurate) statement were made today.
In what aspect of this quote can we agree with it?.. How does he deny Christ?
Perkins was making a wry comment. The papists would have us believe that the Pope is Peter’s successor. Perkins was saying that he is: Peter denied Christ and so does the Pope.
