R. Scott Clark
R.Scott Clark is the President of the Heidelberg Reformation Association, the author and editor of, and contributor to several books and the author of many articles. He has taught church history and historical theology since 1997 at Westminster Seminary California. He has also taught at Wheaton College, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Concordia University. He has hosted the Heidelblog since 2007.

Thanks , Dr. Clark. This was wonderful. I appreciate you saying that De Bres “paid for his faithfulness with his life.” The BC is so clear on justification; De Bres thought it worth dying for. We (I am sure myself included) are so quick to minimize justification or to take it for granted, forgetting that this precious doctrine has been passed down to us through blood.
Overall, the Belgic Confession continues to be my favorite confessional standard (though I also really appreciate the other confessions and catechisms and their distinctive strengths).
