Office Hours: What Steve Baugh Has Learned After Thirty Seven Years Of Teaching The Greek New Testament

Office Hours 2016 full sizeSteve Baugh has been teaching Greek and New Testament at Westminster Seminary California since 1982. When he enrolled as a Master of Divinity student in 1982, the campus was located in San Marcos, CA, in an office building. We did not move to our current campus at 1725 Bear Valley Parkway, Escondido until January of 1984. Back then the campus was one building, now we have something like 11 buildings on campus, including Westminster Village. He earned two bachelors degrees in the University of Oregon, one in journalism and another in classics. He earned his PhD in Ancient History from the University of California, Irvine. He is author of two Greek grammars, a marvelous commentary on Ephesians (see the resources below) and most recently, Majesty on High: An Introduction to the Kingdom of God In the New Testament (see the resources below). This last volume has recently been translated into Korean, which translation was arranged by one of our graduates Jeong Koo Jeon. It is available from CDC publishers in South Korea. When we recorded this episode he was set to retire at the end of the Spring semester, 2020 but Providence had other ideas. Due to immigration restrictions in place because of Covid-19 one of our new faculty members, Nick Brennan is unable to join us this fall. Thus, Steve  will be teaching this fall. He does, however, intend to retire when it becomes possible.

Here is the episode.
