Reformation Worship Conference: Psalms For Preaching & Living

refworshipconf2014Pastor David Hall and the folks at Midway PCA are hosting their annual Reformation Worship Conference October 23–26, 2014. This year’s conference will present addresses by W. Robert Godfrey, T. David Gordon, Terry Johnson, Steven Lawson, Jon Payne, Richard Phillips, and Mark Ross. As the website says, the “conference exists to encourage the church to remember her Reformation heritage, particularly as it concerns Biblical, God-centered worship. The annual conference seeks to draw gifted scholars and pastors who are able to lead pastors, elders, seminarians, music directors/musicians, and congregants to a fuller understanding of the theology and practice of Reformed worship.” The focus this year is psalms, which is surely a worthy topic for a conference on Reformed worship.

Midway PCA is located about 35 miles NW of Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport at  4635 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs, GA 30127.

  1. I have been to three of these conferences and have found them very worthwhile. And there are some great buys on Reformed books!

  2. Looks to be a tremendous improvement over previous conferences, because like it or not, at least the Reformation in Reformed churches, was largely all about preaching and the psalms, not hymns, choirs and instrumental music, which have been topics at the conference in the past.

Now if we could ahem, just get commentaries on the West. Confession to acknowledge what the Assembly explicitly said in its Minutes, Dir. of Worship, WCF 21:5, never mind what became the Scotch Psalter 1650.

In that respect the current RWC gives us hope.
