News on Heidelberg Church Plant

From Will Traub:

MTW has named Sebastian Heck to be the leader of a new team to plant a congregation in Heidelberg, Germany as the first step in forming a Reformed denomination there.

Having a foreign national be the Team Leader is an extremely positive step and is rare in MTW circles. It is im-portant that Germans see a German leading the team – otherwise it will be easy for them to “write off” the church as an American effort. Sebastian received his theological training and assisted in a couple of church planting efforts in Germany. Along with completing his Ph.D. in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, Sebastian is presently finishing up an internship at Grace PCA, Douglasville, GA. He hopes to be licensed and ordained in the PCA when he returns to the US for several weeks in the Fall. Sebastian, his wife Isabel and three children, Sophia, Tabea and David, will be moving from their home in Baden-Baden up to Heidelberg in early August.

They’re looking for 8-10 congregations to form a “Heidelberg Partnership” to send short-term missionaries, interns, and to assist in fund raising.

Contributions should go to: “Mission to the World” and marked “CHURCH PLANTING Heidelberg – #092011” to
