This is a fascinating development. David F. Wright, Professor of Patristic and Reformed Christianity (emeritus) from Edinburgh University, and Dr. Jon Balserak, research fellow in theology at the University of Birmingham, are considering a revision of the Battles edition of Calvin’s Institutes. On this blog, they are collecting suggested revisions of Battles’ English translation on the basis of one of the critical Latin texts (usually the Opera Selecta). Thanks to Danny Hyde for pointing this out!

Maybe this will alleviate some of Muller’s concerns on the subject, if a new edition with corrections can be finished.
Dr. Clark,
Is this why Richard Muller in the introduction to Post-Reformation Reformed Dogmatics vol.1 states he prefers the Beveridge translation?
Would you recommend someone who owns Beveridge to read Battles’ or do you think Beveridge is sufficient?
Thank you,
David
