The difference between Christianity and liberalism may be described as the difference between supernaturalism and naturalism. Now Christian supernaturalism when applied to the subject of salvation yields the doctrine of salvation by grace. And it is the distinction, nay the glory, of the Presbyterian and Reformed churches that of all churches they have embodied this doctrine in its purest form in their confessions and have clung to it most tenaciously in their preaching.
