What is the excellency of this benefit [of adoption by God’s grace]? Answer. Great every way (John 1:12). He which is the child of God is heir and fellow-heir with Christ (Rom. 8:17), and that of the kingdom of heaven, and of all things in heaven and earth (1 Cor. 3:22) he has title in this life and shall have possession in the life to come. Again, he that is God’s child has the angels of God to attend on him and to minister unto him for his good and salvation (Heb. 1:14).
