Office Hours: The Holy Spirit And Sanctification

Office HoursWe say the name of the Spirit so often and so quickly that perhaps we do not stop to consider what we have just said. Paul calls the Spirit, the “Spirit of Holiness,” the Spirit of separation and consecration to God, the Spirit of purity, of total devotion to God as he has revealed himself in Christ. He is the Holy Spirit. To be sure the Father and the Son are equally holy but the Holy Spirit is uniquely commissioned to apply the work of Christ to his people in salvation, in raising them from death to life, uniting them to Christ, and to bring them into gradual conformity to Christ.

Dennis Johnson joins us for this episode to talk about what he’s learned about the person and work of the Spirit in sanctification.
