  1. Very nice! Most people don’t know about the beauty in western Nebraska. By the way, where are the storm chasing (or storm-chased) pictures?

  2. Readers of a certain age (love that euphemism!) will remember deadpan, sad-sack comedian Jackie Vernon. He had a great “slideshow” routine about his vacation. No real slides, of course, just a clicker, a spotlight on the wall, and your imagination. Seeing Dr. Clark out in the wilderness, I thought of Vernon’s great line, “The bear took the picture.”

    First slide: “Here’s a bear on the side of the road. I took the picture.”

    Second slide: “Here’s me on the side of the road. The bear took the picture.”
