News From the Philippines and An Opportunity to Help

Pastor Nollie Malabuyo, pastor of Pasig Covenant Reformed Church in Pasig City, Metro Manila, writes to let us know of a couple of developments. First, Dr. Don Paauw (1926–2013), who played a key role in helping to bring the confessional Reformed faith to the Philippines, went to be with the Lord on 5 February. Nollie tells the story here. He was a great friend to the seminary and I’m not surprised to learn about his role in the formation of the church in Manila.

Second, one of the long term supporters of the work in the Philippines recently lost his job. This opens an opportunity for others to step up. As Nollie explains,

This came even as we have cause for joy because both churches have seen an increase in number the last three months. We’re starting a training class for eight prospective elders and deacons in the churches this coming Sunday, February 14. Lord willing, both churches will be more organized with the installation of new elders and deacons. We also elected the Steering Committee for the Imus church, and will do the same for Pasig next month.

Please pray for the work in Philippines and consider whether you can help.
