Not that preachers are called to spin homely yarns but preaching is a kind of story telling. We have a narrative (the history of redemption) in which people must locate themselves and with which they need to learn to identify. Ira Glass is a great storyteller. He has taught church history and historical theology since 1997 at Westminster Seminary California. He has also taught at Wheaton College, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Concordia University.
