Heidelvideo #11—Continuing Revelation (Part 1)

Dr. R. Scott Clark argues that the quest for “continuing revelation”—direct messages from God outside of the Bible—is directly correlated with a lack of biblical knowledge. Many are seeking a “concierge religion,” desiring personal, immediate answers to life’s specific questions (such as whom to marry or what job to take) because they feel entitled to direct divine guidance. This search for extra-biblical revelation often stems from being too impatient or busy to “labor through” and study the scriptures, which are entirely sufficient for everything needed in the Christian faith and life.
