What does it mean for the church to be “in the world, but not of it?” What can the church learn from our world, and the world from the church?
Darryl Hart of Hillsdale College continues Christ Reformed DC’s spring speaker series on Thursday, April 28, at 7:00 pm. Hart’s lecture, “What the Church Can Learn from Benjamin Franklin,” will explore the relationship between church and culture by looking at Franklin’s complicated relationship with the Protestant world of his day.
Hart has written on a wide range of subjects, and his latest book is Benjamin Franklin: Cultural Protestant, a spiritual biography of one of America’s most remarkable founding fathers. Signed copies of a selection of Hart’s books will be raffled off to attendees, as well as signed copies of Senator Ben Sasse’s two books, Them and The Vanishing American Adult.
Register now to ensure entry for raffle.
Hart’s lecture is the second in a series Who Needs the Church in a Post-Christian World? The three events at Christ Reformed DC (914 Massachusetts Ave NE) focus on the church as a unique institution in our fallen world, exploring how the body of Christ is a necessary balm in these difficult times.
