Conference Series At Christ Reformed In DC: Hart, Sasse, And Holcomb (Corrected)

The Spring Speakers Series begins next week (March 31, 2022) the series speaker is U. S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-Neb), who is addressing “The Church As Heaven’s Embassy.” Sen. Sasse is a historian who has taught at the University of Texas and a former college president. He is the author of, among other titles, The Vanishing American Adult and Them: Why We Hate Each Other and How to Heal. His talk will explore how Christ followers are called to live on earth as dual citizens.

On April 28, 2022 the series continues with the D. G. Hart on “What The Church Can Learn From Benjamin Franklin.” Hart has recently published a provocative study of Franklin, who he characterizes as a “cultural Protestant.” Hart teaches at Hillsdale College and his lecture is tonight at 7:00PM.

On May 12, at 7:00 PM Dr Justin Holcomb will speak to “Abuse, Healing, and the Church.” He is a minister in the ACNA, a professor at RTS, Orlando, and co-host of the White Horse Inn. He will address the problem of abuse, how victims experience it, and how Christ ministers to the abused and how the church should respond. He has written, Rid of My Disgrace: Hope and Healing for Victims of Sexual Assault; Is it My Fault? Hope and Healing for Those Suffering Domestic Violence; and God Made All of Me: A Book to Help Children Protect Their Bodies.
