  2. It seems to me that many of the controversies that threaten the modern church are the result of a failure to distinguish between law and gospel. Legalism, moralism, FV, and social justice/gospel all want to define justification as conditional on something we must do, as our part, that trusting in Christ’s righteousness, for us, is not enough. This is exactly what Paul condemns in Galatians, as another gospel. Galatians 1: 7. We should be as outraged as Paul because if righteousness could be gained by the law, Christ died for nothing. Gal. 2: 21.
