Office Hours: Godfrey On The Lutheran And The Reformed

Office Hours 2016 full sizePresently, the confessional Lutheran churches and the confessional Reformed and Presbyterian churches represent two distinct traditions and several different denominations. There is a gulf between them. Apart from a few cooperative enterprises the two traditions are not actively engaged in any major ecumenical endeavors. As a practical matter we have become strangers to one another but it was not always so. Bob Godfrey joins us for this episode to answer the questions why and how this came to be and to discuss the history of the relations between the two traditions. He has been has been studying and teaching Reformation history since the early 1970s. He was professor of church history at WSC and is the recently retired President of WSC.
