Office Hours: Bob Looks Back

Office Hours 2016 full sizeIn the ordinary providence of God, the Lord uses people and means to accomplish his purposes. Heidelberg Catechism 65 says that God the Spirit uses the preaching of the gospel to bring his elect to new life and to true faith in Christ. In  Westminster Confession of Faith (1.7) we confess that God uses the “due use of ordinary means.” Preaching requires preachers. In Romans 10 the Apostle Paul says how will anyone preach unless they are sent? Bob Godfrey has been preparing men for ministry since 1974. In case your math is as fuzzy as mine that is 43 years. In 1980 he joined the faculty at Westminster Seminary California and since 1993 he has been its president. This summer, however, that will change and he joins us to talk about his career and ministry.

Here is the episode.

  1. I was hoping that Dr. Godfrey would say something about Aimee Semple McPherson. I was not disappointed.
