PC compliance automatically invalidates non-PC views and reinforces the bad habit of condemning all who disagree. By shutting out all but one train of thought, political correctness attacks individuality and ends up pushing people into the oblivion of a collectivized and controllable mass.
PC compliance automatically invalidates non-PC views and reinforces the bad habit of condemning all who disagree.
It does this by using the fear of social vilification to silence people and prevent them from expressing an “incorrect” view. It thereby stifles the exchange of knowledge and cultivates ignorance. As the “correct” view is increasingly mandated, the ability to comprehend any other view atrophies. Extreme polarization ensues.—Stella Morabito, The Strange-Befellows of ‘The Hunger Games’
Scott: You asked ‘how many years…?” It’s already begun:
“The longer term play here is much more sinister. Doctors will be asked to promote safe guns even though there is no demand amongst gun owners for the technology and even less confidence in its utility. My cell phone periodically reboots without warning; will my safe gun reboot when I need it?”
“In keeping with the Executive Order, doctors will be asked to promote the idea that they are just trying to find people with mental illness who might be a danger to themselves or others. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has just struck down as unconstitutional a federal law that bars gun ownership by anyone history of institutionalization for mental illness even if they are now deemed healthy.” (Your Child’s Pediatrician Has No Business Lecturing You On Gun Ownership, Vik Khanna, The Federalist, Dec. 29, 2014)
Now *is* the time to speak up. Remember, “first they came for the trade unionists…”
Geoff,
Is your last sentence a Rush nod or am I reaching?
Linda,
If I was a twit(terer) I’d tweet your words. How many years until the US of A reaches physical persecution (be it jail or worse) of those who won’t abandon the “Triune God,Scripture and Christian-based Western ideals…..”?
Personally I’m more concerned with losing my job over my Christian confession than I am loosing my life over it. I know that’s easy and cavalier to say that now, being safe. I probably shouldn’t even say such a thing.
“In Aug., 2003, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the results of their $1.2 million tax-payer funded study. It stated, essentially, that traditionalists are mentally disturbed. Scholars from the Universities of Maryland, California at Berkeley, and Stanford had determined that social conservatives…suffer from ‘mental rigidity,’ ‘dogmatism,’ and ‘uncertainty avoidance,’ together with associated indicators for mental illness.” ( Social and Emotional Learning, edwatch.org, Jan. 26, 2005)
Political correctness demands that in order for one not to be thought of as racist, homophobic, bigoted, fascist, hateful, mentally ill and anti-science, then one must not only be nonjudgmental but must also embrace evolutionary thinking and man-made morality: diversity, choice, sensitivity, sexual orientation, and tolerance.
The foundation and key strategy of political correctness (the consensus process) is the knowledge that all individuals have an inherent fear of being alienated from the group. During sensitivity-training and diversity-training sessions, skillful change-agents (facilitators) psychologically manipulate this fear to herd selected victims toward a preplanned conclusion that induces them to compromise both conscience and position. This is the consensus process in a nut shell, and when we hear communist-inspired Leftists, progressives and liberals screaming for ‘consensus,’ they’re really demanding that they be allowed to ‘facilitate’ the compromise of conscience which leads to the abandonment of the Triune God, Scripture and Christian-based Western ideals, principles, institutions (i.e., one man, one woman marriage), binary (i.e., the two created sexes in favor of androgyny, truth and good against lie and evil in favor of moral relativism), holidays and traditions.
Proponents of PC compliance clearly engage in psychological projection. They accuse traditionalists of being “rigid,” “dogmatic,” and guilty of “uncertainty avoidance.” Yet they themselves are rigid and dogmatic in their PC orthodoxy, and will often have a visceral negative emotional reaction to anyone who intelligently challenges their worldview (i.e., they themselves are guilty of “uncertainty avoidance”).
Proponents of PC compliance tend to be amazingly non-self-reflective, unable to view the world outside of their PC bubble. And they expect the rest of us to conform or be cast out.
