I’m wondering if most of us were taught that. Perhaps those Ben’s age and older from the Midwest, but I have a suspicion that’s not true. My experience is that if you show a younger person the pie chart they print in the back of the tax booklets (which they haven’t seen before because they get taxes done at a place that gives them a 32% interest loan on their refund check) they usually say “that’s insane, why do we waste so much money on the military industrial complex?”
