Heidelcast 31: Bringing Reformation To the Congregation

The Reformation is not only a doctrine and a piety. It is those two things but it is also a practice. It entails change in the life of the congregation, not for its own sake but for the sake of bringing that which the congregation does in worship, and in teaching, in preaching, in the administration of the sacraments, and in the administration of mercy and discipline, into conformity with God’s Word as it is understood and confessed by the Reformed Churches.

Joining me to talk about how to do this gracefully and well are two friends and colleagues, Mike Brown and Brian Tallman. Mike is pastor of Christ URC in Santee, CA (and the author and co-author of three fine books) and Brian is pastor of New Life PCA in La Mesa, CA. Both are committed a confessional ministry and to church planting. Both congregations are aggressively seeking to reach the lost in the San Diego metro and across the globe through church planting. So, as they talk about bringing Reformation to the local congregation they know whereof they speak.
