The latest episode of Office Hours is up and it is a discussion with Prof. Guy Waters about the nature of the New Perspectives on Paul and the nature of the self-described “Federal Vision,” movement. We talk about what Paul really said about acceptance with God and what the gospel is. If you’re wondering “what’s up with this New Perspective and Federal Vision stuff?” This is a good place to start.
The episode is available now on iTunes.
Guy is author and editor of three very important volumes on these questions:
He is co-editor (with Gary Johnson) of and contributor to the fine collection of essays on justification: By Faith Alone. He is author of the important study of the New Perspectives: Justification and the New Perspectives on Paul and The Federal Vision and Covenant Theology: A Comparative Analysis. Guy was on campus last Spring to teach a course at WSC when we recorded this episode.

Thanks for listening!
I was wondering if Dr. Waters had ever responded to Peter’s article “Guy On Me”:

I was just interested in hearing if that had resulted in a conversation. Thanks in advance.
That was particularly good- but they always are. I always learn a lot tuning in here and reading the posts and thoughtful dialog
Scott,
Thank you a thousand times for this episode. To say it’s a “grand slam” would be an understatement.
This interview is one of the finest I’ve ever heard on any subject. It’s the most concise, carefully-worded description of the content and the dangers of the New Perspective and the Federal Vision available, in my opinion. I plan to give out many copies of CD’s I’ve burned.
You and Guy work perfectly together. You’re both strong on economy of language and precision of expression, which this topic needs above all.
How about more of the same?

Thanks Frank. I’m sure we’ll talk again.
