  1. In our own time, the antithesis of the Revealed Word remains substantially unchanged from what it was in Paul’s time:

“Paul was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be present. And also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him. Some were saying, “What would this idle babbler wish to say?” Others, “He seems to be a proclaimer of strange deities,”– because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is which you are proclaiming?… “(Acts 17:18-19)

The Stoics (modern evolutionary Progressive mystical pantheists) and Epicureans (modern evolutionary materialists) were the two most prominent schools of nature philosophy/nature science/nature religion of that time. Theirs was an atheistic occult or magical scientific worldview predicated upon a one-dimensional universe of animated (evolving) physical matter or psychic  energy (spiritualized matter).

Stoic and Epicurean sages received their ideas from ancient Chaldeans, Egyptians and Hindus, whose one-dimensional, evolutionary nature systems extended back centuries before Greek and Roman civilization.  For example, one Hindu belief was that Brahman (the Void, World Soul, Abyss) spontaneously generated itself as something like a seed or singularity about 4.3 billion years ago and then evolved under its’ own power by which it expanded and formed all that exists:

“These Hindus believed in an eternal Universe that had cycles of rebirth, destruction and dormancy, known as ‘kalpas,’ rather like oscillating big bang theories.  We also read in the Hindu Bhagavad Gita that the god Krishna says, ‘I am the source from which all creatures evolve.”  (Evolution: An Ancient Pagan Idea, Paul James Griffith, creation.com)

If we are to stop retreating and go on the offensive, Christians must understand that what we are up against– i.e., evolutionary biology, Big Bang– is a new but ancient ‘secular’ and ‘scientific’ pagan and pantheist worldview that has taken over America and is leading the church into apostasy:

“In spite of constant repetition, the cultural divide is not between hate-filled traditionalists and love-inspired progressives. It is an irreconcilable conflict of two opposing worldviews that affects our understanding of the deep meaning of life. It is the conflict between what the Apostle Paul calls in Romans 1:25 the Truth (worship of the Creator, Twoism) and the Lie (rejection of the Creator and worship of nature, Oneism). This is why there is no conversation or open sharing. Embracing the Lie, for whatever reasons (even “Christian” ones) will never allow the Truth to be spoken, and is actively bringing about the undermining of the Christian gospel which, one must never forget, is the good news about the Creator, the “endower” of life. It is the good news that the Creator. As the lover of his people, not only gives us the right to life but offers us the right to new, eternal life by the gracious gift of the death and resurrection of his Son.” (Anti-Gay? Get Out of the Way! Dr. Peter Jones, Dec. 14, 2018)

    • I am just now reading Dr. Robert Godfrey’s book, God’s Pattern for Creation: A Covenantal Reading of Genesis 1. What an eye opener this book is for me on the understanding of the whole Bible as the revelation of the covenant relationship God establishes between Himself and His people, where Genesis 1 is the foundation. “As the Bible repeatedly states, God has said, ‘I will be your God, and you will be my people.’ These words remind us that humanity has no being or meaning apart from God…He created humanity for fellowship with Him, and when sin destroyed that fellowship, God acted to save and preserve a people with whom the original purpose of creation would Ber fulfilled. The whole Bible is covanental because from beginning to end it shows how God is our God, and how He makes us His people, first in creation and then in redemption through Christ.” This book sheds a bright light on the Reformed, covanental understanding of Scripture.

  2. Scripture makes it clear that there are no distinctions among Christians, as far as they are accepted by God, according to categories of gender, race, occupation, or social status. These are all one in Christ. But where does Scripture say that sexual perversion makes a category of people that God accepts? It says the very opposite, and God in His Word condemns it in the strongest terms as contrary to His design in creation. Yet the LBGQTetc. twist and deny Scripture attempting to make their sin the marker of a category of legitimate people God accepts, and so must we! Jesus died to save us from our sin, first from the death penalty we deserve, and that by the new birth, we would repent of it and please God by striving against it, in obedience, not that we might be justified in spite of it.
