Office Hours: Wisdom In Pastoral Ministry

Office HoursThe virtue of wisdom is essential for every Christian but the absence of wisdom might be more obvious in one vocation than it is in others: the pastoral ministry. Consider the several public, ugly scandals in which televangelists have made evangelical Christianity notorious to the public. Chances are that you’ve been through a church split or some other major issue in a congregation or you know someone who has and that the pastor played a role in it. Dennis Johnson is professor of practical theology at Westminster Seminary California and he’s here to think together with us about the importance of wisdom in pastoral ministry. He’s been a pastor since 1973 and he’s taught here since 1982.
