Office Hours: The Wisdom Of Moses

Office HoursMoses is one of the most important figures in the history of salvation. Scripture refers to an entire epoch of redemptive history as “Moses.” Through him the Lord redeemed his people from Egypt, through the Red Sea, on dry ground. Through him the Lord delivered the two tables of the law and the old testament laws and ceremonies that pointed to Christ. Through him God the Spirit gave us the first five books of the Bible, the Pentateuch or the Torah. Naturally, when we think of Moses we think of law. Scripture speaks repeatedly of the “The law of Moses” but in this episode we want to think about Moses’ relationship to the virtue of wisdom. Charles Telfer joined us to help us think through the life of Moses as a pattern of wisdom and foolishness. He is Assistant Professor of Biblical Languages at Westminster Seminary California. He is writing his PhD dissertation on the biblical scholarship of Campegius Vitringa.
