If only it wasn’t, you know, California.
“Southern California, that’s as blue as the boy can be, blue as a deep blue sea…I need your golden gated cities like a hole in the head, just like a hole in the head.”
James Taylor, Mudslide Slim?
JT, yes, but “Hey Mister , That’s Me Up On The Jukebox.”
Don’t think I’ve ever seen it without the smog 🙂
I thought there were people in California. You know, like Beverly Hills and Sunset Boulevard and all. I see a movie set and a couple of houses.
All kidding aside, this is a gorgeous picture. My area of the country (south Mississippi, the “Pine Belt”) is not especially picturesque. Very low rolling hills, hillocks really, and miles and miles of woodland. In this little part of the Deep South, though, if the scenery is plain, the people are scenic.

This is a classic and I like it. Brings to mind the work of authors such as Eudora Welty. BTW, are you familiar with the works of a writer from Georgia by the name of Ferrol Sams? Especially his trilogy beginning with “Run With the Horesmen?”
