R. Scott Clark
R.Scott Clark is the President of the Heidelberg Reformation Association, the author and editor of, and contributor to several books and the author of many articles. He has taught church history and historical theology since 1997 at Westminster Seminary California. He has also taught at Wheaton College, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Concordia University. He has hosted the Heidelblog since 2007.

Dear Pastor, I don’t recall the playing of music in Christian worship in the New Testament; and preceeding that, in Amos where God banned the playing of musical intruments and again in chapter 3 of Daniel where all the musical instruments are pl;ayed over the blood of the prophets. In Recovering the Reformed Confession I argue for the earliest and confessional Reformed position, i.e., against the use of instruments in worship. If you’ll search the HB you’ll find evidence to that effect. See also the book.
