HB Banned in Turkey

This morning I received an email from a correspondent in Turkey. He reports,

A Turkish court suspended access to your site. For some reason the Turkish state is blocking your site. Here is the message I get when I type the web site: Access to this site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2007/195 of the Turkish Republic Fatih 2nd. Civil Court of First Instance. (“Bu siteye erişim mahkeme kararıyla engellenmiştir. T.C. Fatih 2.Asliye Hukuk Mahkemesi 2007/195 Nolu Kararı gereği bu siteye erişim engellenmiştir.)

I’m not sure what I can do about it. I suppose it’s a badge of honor. It’s bizarre. The blog of a minor American cleric threatens the Turkish Republic? The Turkish Republic must be tottering.

WWAD? Would Would Attaturk Do? I doubt he would be banning blogs.

  1. It’s not just your site that is banned in Turkey but any site hosted by WordPress.com… There was/is a critic of the Turkish government who blogs on WordPress.com and because wordpress wouldn’t censure him, the Turkish court banned the whole domain.

  2. Paul might appeal to his Roman citizenship. Guess that doesn’t help you, being un-Turkish and all. Looks like you’re stuck with a theology of the Cross…again.
