R. Scott Clark has influenced a host of people throughout his career by teaching, pastoring, and writing on topics related to Reformed theology, piety, and practice. After his decades of labor and for bringing countless students and Christians to value and embrace the Reformed faith, these essays honor him upon his retirement from Westminster Seminary California.
This collection brings together Clark’s colleagues and students to display the contributions that he has made to the field and to our lives. Each reflects on a major theme of his ministry to show his contribution to the topic and how we hope to pass on to others what we have learned from Clark. He taught us to recover the Reformed confession. These essays help remember what he recovered.

“It is a joy and a privilege to recommend this book of celebratory essays dedicated to one of the most engaging, provocative, and accessible public theologians of our day, R. Scott Clark. Clark’s infectious passion for biblical, Reformed faith and practice is well reflected in the contributions to this volume. The result is a collection of insightful and sometimes entertaining chapters on aspects of the history, theology, and ministry of the church. This book is a fitting tribute to the honoree and a worthy addition to his legacy, all to the glory of the God he loves and serves.”
–Charles E. Hill, Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Early Christianity, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, FL |

“Written by former students, friends, and colleagues, this volume honoring R. Scott Clark captures well the essence of his life’s work—theology for the sake of the church. His contributions are carefully historical, unapologetically confessional, and faithfully biblical. But he is first and foremost a churchman, and I, along with the authors in the volume, gratefully remember him for his love of Christ’s church and pastoral care for his colleagues and students. A wonderful book to honor Scott, who reminded us to remember.”
–Joel E. Kim, President and Assistant Professor of New Testament, Westminster Seminary California, Escondido, CA |

“In this collection of essays, we have both a tribute to a faithful scholar of Reformed and confessional history, a call from pastors, theologians, and historians for the contemporary church to reflect on its roots and its future in its faith and life.”
