  1. Great picture! That, however, is San Gorgonio Mountain, the highest peak in Southern California at 11,503 feet. I saw it several times from Double Peak, near where this photo appears to have been taken from (on San Elijo Road). Palomar would be more to the right, off the right side of this photo.

  2. The mountain is particularly spectacular up close. This brings back lots of memories for me and my wife as we spent the first three years of our marriage living in the shadow of that peak.
